Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
HIT is published by ErikHash ("we", "us", "our"), the business name under which Erik Hallowell operates. This Policy explains what information HIT collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
Account information from Sign in with Apple: a stable, Apple-generated identifier for your account, and — only if you choose to share them during sign-in — your name and email address (which may be an Apple-generated private relay address rather than your real one).
Notification preferences: which notification categories you have opted into, and your device's push notification token, used to deliver notifications to you.
Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription or Lifetime purchase, and which tier. Purchases are processed and billed entirely by Apple through the App Store — we do not receive or store your payment card details.
Referral information: your referral code, and any code you redeem.
Role and permissions: whether you have been granted Trigger or Admin access within the App.
On-device diagnostics: crash and performance data collected on your device through Apple's MetricKit framework. As of this Policy's effective date, this data is used only for local debugging during development and is not transmitted to us or any third party.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data. We do not access any of these.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate and provide the App's core functionality.
- To send notifications you have opted into, including via Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
- To verify your subscription status and unlock the features it entitles you to.
- To administer the referral program.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To diagnose and fix crashes or reliability issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Third Parties We Work With
Apple: Sign in with Apple (authentication), Apple Push Notification service (notification delivery), and the App Store / StoreKit (processing payments for subscriptions and the Lifetime purchase). Apple's own privacy practices govern the information Apple collects directly through these services.
Advertising networks: the App reserves space to display ads. As of this Policy's effective date, no third-party advertising network is active. If and when we integrate one, that network may collect device identifiers and usage data to select and measure the ads shown to you. We will update this Policy, and our separate User Privacy Choices notice will describe your opt-out rights, before any such network goes live.
5. Data Storage and Retention
As of this Policy's effective date, HIT does not have a remote backend server: the information described above is stored locally on your device (and, for the purpose of powering the Home Screen / Lock Screen widget and Live Activity, within an App Group container shared only between the App and its own widget extension — not with any other app or company). If we later introduce a backend server that stores this information remotely, we will update this Policy to describe that server's data handling and retention practices before it goes live. We retain account-related data for as long as your account is active, and delete it upon a valid account deletion request, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Delete your account and its data at any time from Settings > Delete Account within the App.
- Change your notification category preferences at any time from Settings within the App.
- Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings.
- California and other U.S. state residents have additional rights described in our separate User Privacy Choices notice, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
- Residents of the EU, UK, or EEA have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port their personal information, and to object to certain processing, subject to applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where we rely on your consent (for example, for optional notification categories), you may withdraw it at any time.
Because HIT is distributed through the global App Store, information may be processed in the United States regardless of where you are located.
7. Children's Privacy
HIT is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, including as the App's features change — see Updates for a running log of changes. We will provide notice of material changes through the App or by other reasonable means.
10. Contact Us
